”I want them to just be able to be nurtured in the school year to come,” she said. “That they will still keep growing, still keep learning.”

Norton is a preschool teacher at The Goddard School of Wesley Chapel. Her daughter, who was inspired to become an educator because of her mother, nominated Norton to be an A+ Teacher.

“It was an honor that she thought enough of me and she loves me enough to give me this special day,” said Norton.

Norton began her teaching career when she was living in Japan. She went to a daycare to enroll her daughter and said the director was a family friend who hired her right away.

Throughout her career, Norton has touched countless lives and says she wants to make an impact on her students every day.

“We never know what their morning was like or when they go home what they’re facing,” she said. “But I want it to be something that it will make them feel good about themselves when they walk out.”
