‘I Like to Move It’ DJ Erick Morillo found dead at Florida home

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) — South Florida DJ and music producer Erick Morillo was found dead at his home Tuesday morning, weeks after being charged with sexual battery, authorities said.

Miami Beach police officers found the 49-year-old Morillo’s body after responding to a 911 call, police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said in an email. Officials didn’t immediately report a cause of death.

Suspect in shooting death of St. Louis officer recently skipped court in Florida assault case

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The man charged with first-degree murder Tuesday in the fatal shooting of a St. Louis police officer has a long history of violent crime and missed a court appearance last month in Florida, where he is accused of false imprisonment and sexual battery.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner announced charges against Thomas Kinworthy Jr., 43, in the death of 29-year-old Officer Tamarris L. Bohannon. Kinworthy is jailed without bond at the St. Louis City Justice Center. In addition to the murder charge, he is charged with assault, burglary, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm and three counts of armed criminal action. It wasn’t immediately clear if Kinworthy had an attorney.

DeSantis extends deadline for students to earn Bright Futures scholarship

TAMPA (WFLA) – Gov. DeSantis has extended the Bright Futures scholarship deadline, giving students until Dec. 1 to earn a Bright Futures scholarship.

Students typically must earn certain ACT or SAT scores by June 30 of their senior year to be eligible for Bright Futures, which can cover up to full tuition at state colleges and universities.
