Join Pasco County for a first-hand, immersive look at how local government works. Applications are now being accepted for the tenth Pasco County Citizens’ Academy – a highly educational and entertaining program designed to share information about Pasco County services. Get an immersive look at how local government works and apply online by August 10th. Participants can expect a mix of in-person and virtual meetings and tours, in line with the latest CDC and Florida Department of Health social distancing guidelines.

The Citizens’ Academy begins in September and includes ten sessions, culminating with a December graduation. Applications are being accepted through August 10, 2020. Due to the popularity of the program, those still interested in participating after the fall class size limit is reached will be added to list for the winter session that begins in January, 2021.

“Citizens’ Academy is your opportunity to connect with local government, learning not only how it works, but also sharing your input for the future of our communities,” said Program Manager Johanna Rodriguez. “Our leaders and team members deliver a behind-the-scenes look at the innovative programs, services and facilities designed to serve our residents every day.”

Participants will learn many aspects of how County Government and the County’s Constitutional Offices operate including: the Legislative/Administrative Branch, County Attorney’s Office, Fire Rescue, Sheriff’s Office, Office of the Clerk and Comptroller, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, School Board, Internal Services Branch, Public Services Branch, Development Services Branch and Public Infrastructure Branch.

Apply today by completing an online application: bit.ly/CitizensAcademyApp and for more information about the Citizens’ Academy, including a full list of class topics, please visit: pascocountyfl.net/citizensacademy.
