DeSantis unveils rapid COVID tests shipped to states by federal government
CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday unveiled the rapid COVID-19 tests expected to be shipped out in millions to every state by the federal government.
The test, which was demonstrated live during Tuesday’s press conference at Baycare’s Morton Plant hospital in Clearwater, takes only 15 minutes to register a result, DeSantis said. And it doesn’t need a lab to do so.

Unborn baby dies after pregnant Florida woman was shot in her sleep
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — An unborn baby was killed after its mother was shot in her sleep in Jacksonville Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
First Coast News says the shooting happened on Kona Avenue in the Arlington neighborhood. While the baby did not survive, police say the mother is at the hospital in stable, but serious condition.
