It’s happening at noon at Wiregrass Ranch High in Wesley Chapel.

Students organizing it say they were inspired by discussions they’ve had in class and now they want to help.

They plan on raising money and collecting donations for refugees. They also plan to make videos to show support for Ukraine and hold discussions with students about what’s happening there.

“We’re trying to raise money for everyday needs that Ukrainian refugees need,” said junior Luis Guerrero. We’re hoping to make their lives easier.”

Some teachers are supporting this rally even though it’s in the middle of the school day.

Jamey Ketler, the school’s graduation enhancement coordinator, is proud of his students.

“What the kids are doing here is really going to be felt around the world, specifically the donations. It’s going to a good cause for people that are really in need,” Ketler said.

About 2,000 students go to Wiregrass Ranch, and organizers hope most of them take part.
