PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A man suspected to be responsible for the cause of a fire that destroyed four townhomes and badly damaged a fifth in Holiday has been arrested by Hernando County deputies, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said Joseph Bronson Newman, 33, was arrested on multiple counts of arson and attempted homicide after setting a van on fire in the Boardwalk Street area on March 4. The fire lead to several homes, vehicles and vessels catching fire.

It took fire rescue crews around 90 minutes to control the fire.

No one was injured.
